Mr Tony Carter, CNZM, for services to business governance
Tony Carter is Chairman of Fisher and Paykel Healthcare and former Chairman of Air New Zealand. He steered both companies through the recovery from the global financial crisis and uncertainty in offshore markets. He is a Director on the Boards of ANZ Bank New Zealand and Vector Ltd, and was previously Director of Vector Building. He was Chairman of the New Zealand Institute when it merged with the New Zealand Business Roundtable to form The New Zealand Initiative, of which he was inaugural Chairman. He is the former Managing Director of The Foodstuffs Group, having also been Foodstuffs Auckland Managing Director and Chief Executive of Foodstuffs South Island. Mr Carter was Chairman of the Auckland Blues rugby franchise and is a Trustee of the Maurice Carter Charitable Trust.
