Mr Afiff Shah, of Auckland, QSM for services to the Muslim community and football
Afiff Shah organised a Muslim place of worship at a vacant New Zealand Army barracks in the 1990s. He then drove the establishment of the Al Irqa Islamic Trust and the purchase of a property in Takanini as a permanent place of worship. He is a long-standing South Auckland Muslim Association member. He was Chairman and Coach of the Papatoetoe United Football Club. He was founding President of the organisation now known as the New Zealand Fiji Football Association Inc. Mr Shah is an adviser for the Pakuranga Citizens Advice Bureau Immigration Clinic and a Justice of the Peace.
