Mr Keith Locke, of Auckland, for services to human rights advocacy
Keith Locke was the National Co-ordinator of the Philippines Solidarity Network and created exchange programmes between New Zealand social justice groups and their counterparts in the Philippines.
He opened the progressive One World Books store, which provided a hub for activists in Auckland. He was Secretary of the Wellington Latin America Committee.
He was a Foreign Affairs spokesperson for the NewLabour, Alliance and Green parties and a Green Member of Parliament, advocating on politically unpopular international human rights issues and drawing attention to human rights abuses.
Mr Locke has served on the Boards of the Auckland Refugee Council and the New Zealand Peace and Conflict Studies Centre Trust.
