Mr Stuart Jones, of Kirwee, QSM, for services to Fire and Emergency New Zealand
Stuart Jones is Chief Fire Officer of the Kirwee Volunteer Fire Brigade, having previously served as Station Officer and Deputy Chief Fire Officer.
He has driven fundraising efforts for the Brigade and has mentored and trained other firefighters. Through his business, he has sponsored sports clubs and community groups.
After the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, he joined a volunteer crew responding to 111 calls and a revolving crew stationed with Kirwee Brigade’s tanker at the Christchurch City Station.
Mr Jones was the Kirwee Rugby Club Division 3 Team Manager and part of the committee that rebuilt the Kirwee Community Hall.
