Mrs Yvonne Roberts, of Picton, for services to quilting and patchwork craft
Yvonne Roberts helped establish Picton Quilters and was a committee member, responsible for tutoring and exhibition organisation. She co-convened the symposium ‘Parallel 41’ and developed a tutorial for tutors. She was a foundation member, Executive Committee member and Treasurer of Aotearoa Quilters. She was delegate to the Australian Council of Quilters Conference. She taught patchwork and quilting to indigenous peoples in Northern Thailand. After the Christchurch earthquakes, she drove an initiative to distribute quilts to those affected. Mrs Roberts created a quilt to fundraise for an MRI unit for Marlborough Hospital, and continues to support a neo-natal quilt initiative.
