Ms Phillis Meti, MNZM, of Auckland, for services to sport, particularly golf
Phillis Meti has represented New Zealand at seven Long Drive Golf World Championships, winning three, and is the World Number One ranked female long driver.
She set the women’s world record of driving a golf ball the furthest in competition in 2017, breaking that record in 2019. She has won five Long Drive national titles. She is the Auckland Cook Islands Sports Association’s Golf Coordinator.
She has strongly advocated for involving youth in sport. She represented New Zealand in discus, shot put, and waka ama and represented the Cook Islands in netball.
Ms Meti has been involved in waka ama regattas as an organiser, manager, coach, mentor and competitor.
