Mr Murray Binning, of Auckland, MNZM for services to Fire and Emergency New Zealand
Murray Binning has been an Executive Officer with the New Zealand Fire Service / Fire and Emergency New Zealand for more than 40 years. He held various leadership roles in the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Brigade, was Tauranga Area Commander, and is now Waitemata Area Commander. As President of the Institute of Fire Engineers, he played a key role in increasing membership and joining with the Fire Protection Association to form FireNZ. He helped establish the Auckland Urban Search and Rescue team and assisted as Team Leader following the Christchurch earthquakes and Fiji’s Cyclone Winston. Mr Binning is Patron of the Auckland Fire Brigade’s Museum and Historical Society.
