On Thursday 21 October 2021, The Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro was sworn in as Governor-General of New Zealand in a ceremony at Parliament's Legislative Council Chamber. Following the ceremony, Dame Cindy and her husband Dr Richard Davies went to Pukeahu to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.
