Manatunga Exhibition

The Governor-General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae opened the Manatunga Exhibition at the Auckland Library on 12 June 2013. The exhibition delved into the George Grey Special Collections to display some nationally-significant Māori artefacts, handwritten manuscripts, letters, diaries, maps and photographs that recorded 19th Century Maori. Many of these treasures were collected by Governor Grey himself with some never having been displayed publicly.
