Sir Peter Blake Trust Young Blake Expedition to the Kermadec Islands - Farewell
As Patron of the Sir Peter Blake Trust, the Governor-General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, farewelled the Young Blake Expedition Team headed for the Kermadecs on 8 August 2012. Sir Jerry Mateparae was at first officially welcomed on to the Royal New Zealand Navy Base in Devonport, as Commander-in-Chief, and then embarked on HMNZS Canterbury with the Expedition Team and sailed with them out of the harbour, before returning to land via an RNZAF Seasprite.
