West Coast Regional Visit Day Two
On the second day of their visit, the Governor-General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae travelled by helicopter to the Amethyst River power scheme, and then by road to Jon Sullivan's farm at Hari Hari to see the state-of-the-art cow barn. Lady Janine joined him for the helicopter flight to Franz Joseph where they visited the West Coast Wildlife Centre. They then flew to Ross, where they visited Burchfield's Mining to see how alluvial gold is being extracted.
