Westport Mayoral Welcome

West Coast Day 3 - What looked like a rainy day turned into sunshine for Dame Patsy and Sir David in Westport. The first event was a Mayoral Welcome hosted by Mayor Jamie Cleine with guests from local volunteer organisations and a kapa haka performance from students from Westport North and South Schools and Buller High School. Buller High School Deputy Head Girl Tara Shepherd gave a presentation on the historic Hector Landfill, the environmental danger it poses and her role in the mitigation project that's in the planning stages.
