Group tours for 6 to 20 people of the gardens at Government House Auckland can be arranged for community organisations, rest homes, work groups, commercial tour groups and groups with specialist needs or interests.
To arrange a group tour please contact our Visitor Centre at [email protected], or call 04-382-0837. If you email and don't hear from us, check your junk and spam folders.
The maximum size for group tours is 15-20. We are unable to accommodate more.
Tours are guided. The tours do not go inside the house.
We are most likely to accomodate tours on Wednesdays, although some Mondays and Fridays are available. All tours are dependant on the Governor-General's diary and the garden team's work schedules. We will only schedule tours in the weeks when daylight saving is in effect (generally late September to early April).
Our paths have stairs and are hilly and are not suitable for wheelchairs or walking frames. All participants on a garden tour must have good fitness and mobility and be able to walk and stand for 90 minutes. There is no opportunity to 'sit-out' for part of a tour.
Toilets are available. There is no public parking available onsite.
