Dame Cindy joined athletes, supporters and members of the New Zealand Olympic Committee last night for an event to mark one year until the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games begin. The evening featured a collaborative performance from Te Whare Haka o Waititi and the City of Sails Pipe Band, and unveiled The New Zealand Team’s King’s Baton. The baton, one of 74 for each nation and territory taking part in the Games, will later be designed to represent Aotearoa and will make its way across the country during the King’s Baton Relay.
