Investiture ceremonies began this morning at Government House Wellington, with Dame Julie Chapman receiving her DNZM insignia for services to children and the community. Dame Julie founded the KidsCan Charitable Trust, which for 20 years has worked to support the education and wellbeing of New Zealand children in poverty, as well as Pet Refuge New Zealand, which provides temporary shelter for family pets affected by domestic violence. Other recipients were acknowledged for their contributions across documentary filmmaking, Māori and Pacific communities, agriculture, and local government.
