Emeritus Distinguished Professor Dame Alison Stewart received her Damehood this morning at Government House Wellington in recognition of her outstanding 40-year career as a plant scientist, focusing in particular on sustainable plant protection, soil biology, and plant biotechnology. Master fly-tier Peter Carty was also recognised for his services to the sport of fly-fishing, as well as Dr Celia Devenish, for her long and distinguished career in women's health, as a physician, lecturer, and researcher. Very warmest congratulations to all of this morning's recipients.
