In the final investiture ceremony for this Wellington round, Ms Cath Andersen CNZM was recognised for services to the music industry, having served as Chief Executive of the New Zealand Music Commission since 2000, where she has worked to safeguard the livelihoods of music professionals through a period of radical transformation across the industry. Twelve other outstanding New Zealanders were honoured for their contributions across health, tourism, drug abuse prevention, Pasifika communities, outdoor recreation, seniors, Māori culture, and education.
Very warmest congratulations to all recipients over this past week of ceremonies, each embodying in their own way the whakataukī: ‘Whāia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe me he maunga teitei. Seek the treasure you value most dearly; if you bow your head, let it be to a lofty mountain.’
