In this morning's investiture ceremony at Government House Auckland, Sir Brendan Lindsay received his knighthood for his services to business and philanthropy. Following the sale of his successful food storage brand Sistema, Sir Brendan and his wife established the Lindsay Foundation to support New Zealand charities, focusing on family, education, disabilities, and animal welfare. Dr Mark Thomas was also acknowledged for his pioneering work to support people living with HIV/AIDS, as was Mr Tim Southee, the Black Caps' all-time leading international wicket-taker.
