Investiture ceremonies got underway on this beautiful morning at Government House Auckland, with Dame Cindy presenting Royal Honours insignia to eight recipients. Mr Neil Bateup received his CNZM for services to the rural sector, notably for his extraordinary fundraising efforts following Cyclone Gabrielle. Mr David Corner was also recognised for his many years of advocacy on behalf of people with intellectual and learning disabilities.
Other recipients were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements and service to Māori, conservation, the arts, gerontology, broadcasting, and rugby league.
