At this afternoon’s investiture ceremony at Government House Wellington, nine New Zealanders were recognised for their outstanding service and achievements.
Dr Ron Beatson and Dr Keith Woodford received the insignia of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit – Dr Beatson for services to horticulture, and Dr Woodford for services to agriculture and agribusiness.
Four recipients received their MNZM: Ms Irihapeti Bullmore for services to seniors’ health, particularly Māori; Mr Mervyn English for services to governance and the community; Ms Alison McDonald for services to translation and interpretation; and Mr Warwick Wilshier for services to the road freight industry.
Ms Becs Amundsen, Ms Hanny Naus, and Ms Norma Roberts were awarded the King’s Service Medal for their contributions to local government, the arts and community; seniors and rainbow communities; and early childhood education, respectively.
