This morning, eight further New Zealanders received honours for their service to our communities.
Sir Peter Boshier was knighted for services to the State and the judiciary. Sir Peter was the Chief Ombudsman from 2015 to 2025, and has served as the Principal Family Court Judge, and as a Law Commissioner.
Miss Beatrice Faumuinā received the insignia of a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to sport and governance. Miss Faumuinā was an elite athlete, representing New Zealand at four Olympic Games, five Commonwealth Games, and six World Athletics Championships.
Two recipients received their ONZM, three recipients received their MNZM, and one more was awarded their KSM for services in a range of fields, including governance and the community, arts and philanthropy, education, the Pacific community, rugby, seniors and cultural heritage.
