This afternoon, in a very moving ceremony at Government House Wellington, Dame Cindy presented New Zealand Bravery Awards to five extraordinary New Zealanders, for their actions in response to the Whakaari/White Island eruption on 9 December 2019.
Sir Ashley Bloomfield was among the eleven recipients receiving their honours this morning at Government House. Sir Ashley was recognised for his role in leading the health sector’s response and management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
