Mr Trevor Hawkins, of Martinborough, QSM for services to the community
Trevor Hawkins (Ngāti Kahungunu) founded Martinborough Transport Ltd and is Owner Operator of Hawkins Contracting Ltd. Through his businesses he has sponsored community organisations and sports teams. He has been a player and coach and held committee positions with the Martinborough Rugby Club. He significantly assisted the establishment of the Martinborough Gym. He has sponsored Martinborough Golf Club’s club programme and Christmas Tournament, served on the Committee and been course convenor. He sits on the Hau Ariki Marae Trustees Committee and South Wairarapa District Māori Standing Committee. Mr Hawkins has been organiser and leader of Martinborough Night Patrol.
