Mr Richard Bull, of Mangawhai, MNZM for services to conservation and the community
Richard Bull chaired the Mangawhai Domain Society, the Mangawhai Beach Primary School Committee, and the Mangawhai Library Hall Committee and was a member of the Kaipara District Council. He is a founding member and former Chair of the Mangawhai Harbour Restoration society. A farmer, he sold a portion of the sandspit that was part of his farm for management by the Department of Conservation, donating machinery and time to the replanting of the area. He was significant in the development of the Mangawhai Coastal and Harbour Reserves Management Plan. Mr Bull was Patron of the Mangawhai Historical Society and Museum and has financially supported further development projects.
