Ms Anna Cottrell, of Wellington, MNZM for services to documentary filmmaking and migrant communities
Anna Cottrell is a documentary producer, journalist and oral historian. She highlighted migrant stories in the ‘Immigrant Nation’ TV series and as co-founder of the ‘Migrating Kitchen’ Trust, which supported migrant and refugee communities in workshops, videos and festivals. She recorded oral histories with various people for the National Library. She co-directed ‘Getting to Our Place’ on establishing Te Papa Tongarewa. She has directed and produced documentaries on the First World War, the Christchurch earthquakes, the Wahine Disaster, and Katherine Mansfield’s legacy. Ms Cottrell was a Board member of Women In Film and Television and Wellington Boys’ College and Chair of the Wellington Activity Centre Management Committee.
