Mrs Helen Cooper, of Bulls, KSM for services to the community
Mrs Helen Cooper (Ngāti Hauiti, Ngāti Kahungunu, Te Ātiawa) was the first woman to join the Bulls Volunteer Fire Brigade, serving as Secretary and Treasurer. She has been involved with the Bulls Floral Art Club and Marton Floral Art Club. She voluntarily provides catering and flowers for funerals and local events. She donates monthly floral arrangements to Our Lady of Grace Church in Bulls.
She has volunteered for Rata Marae, including time as Chair. She is Secretary of the Bulls and District Historical Society. Mrs Cooper organised the Rangitīkei Tough Kids Challenge, a children’s obstacle course.
