Mr Leo Gambitsis, of Lower Hutt, KSM for services to the Greek community
Mr Leo Gambitsis has been an accountant and advisor for the Wellington Greek Community, Pan-Hellenic Association and Greek Ladies Auxiliary of Wellington since 1973. He was central to the development of the Greek Orthodox Church in the Hutt Valley. He is a Life Member of the Cretan Association of New Zealand. He has voluntarily helped many Greek New Zealanders with life in New Zealand. He has assisted with the restructure and management of New Zealand Greek Orthodoxy’s missions across New Zealand and in Fiji. Mr Gambitsis is Special Advisor to the Archbishop Myron of New Zealand and the Pacific.
