Dr Murray King, of Wellington, MNZM for services to transport, logistics and railway heritage
Dr Murray King held senior management positions with the Railways Department and its successors, the New Zealand Railways Corporation, New Zealand Rail Limited and TranzRail. He set up a consultancy offering transport and logistics expertise. He was appointed to the Board of Land Transport New Zealand and co-authored the "National Freight Demand Study", a Ministry of Transport report forecasting future freight requirements and transport infrastructure needs.
He was National President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in New Zealand.
Dr King is a member of the New Zealand Railway and Locomotive Society and a Trustee and Chair of the Rail Heritage Trust of New Zealand.
