Mr Ian Blunt, of Ōmokoroa, KSM for services to Fire and Emergency New Zealand and the community
Mr Ian Blunt is Chief Fire Officer of Ōmokoroa Volunteer Fire Brigade. He has forged effective partnerships with St John, Coastguard, and Bay of Plenty organisations, and pioneered New Zealand’s first Medical First Response Unit, which now supports approximately 300 calls annually. Through community and corporate partnerships, he has acquired vehicles and equipment without requiring members to fundraise. Mr Blunt has improved the grounds and infrastructure of the Ōmokoroa Golf Club, served as Commodore of the Ōmokoroa Boat Club, and has been involved in fundraising for Ōmokoroa Point School.
