Ms Lorraine Taylor-Tams, of Featherston, MNZM for services to education
Ms Lorraine Taylor-Tams was a Principal at Horohoro School in Rotorua, and then two other schools in the region, where she was also leader of the Eastern Rotorua Kāhui Ako community of learning, leading transformative curriculum design, strengthening partnerships with local iwi, and championing equity focused initiatives that improved student achievement and wellbeing. She was a member of the 2024 Ministerial Advisory Group focused on the English, Mathematics and Statistics learning areas for the New Zealand curriculum refresh. She was a key contributor to the Ministry of Education’s Progress and Consistency Tool (PaCT). Most recently, Ms Taylor-Tams was Principal of Silverstream School, and she is an establishment Board member for the Altum Classical Academy in Wellington.
