Mr Greg Lind, of Cromwell, MNZM for services to conservation and Search and Rescue
Mr Greg Lind was the founding Chair of the Southern Lakes Sanctuary, undertaking predator control over 800,000 hectares. He established the Routeburn Dart Wildlife Trust, which protects native wildlife in the upper Lake Whakatipu region. He led Search and Rescue Groups in the Catlins and Stewart Island. He established the Queenstown Heritage Trust, which renovated the Arrowtown Gaol and Bullendale Dynamo. He worked for the Department of Lands and Survey and the Department of Conservation, where he managed complex biodiversity programmes, recreation assets, and concession portfolios in Fiordland National Park. As Area Manager for the Southern Islands, he laid the groundwork for successful predator eradication programmes, including the Campbell Island rat eradication.
