Mrs Joy Fletcher, of Picton, KSM for services to the community
Mrs Joy Fletcher was a librarian in Picton for 31 years, and continues to deliver books to house-bound senior citizens. As Theatre Manager, Treasurer and Secretary with the Picton Drama Club, she oversaw around 10 shows per year. She has served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Picton RSA, and organises the annual Poppy Day and ANZAC Day Dawn Parade. Mrs Fletcher was regional editor of the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association newsletter 'Wheel-E-News', and helps organise and host rallies for the Association. She contributes to the Picton Flower Ladies, making corsages and posies for visiting cruise-boat passengers.
