Associate Professor Mary Low, of Hamilton, MNZM for services to accountancy education
Associate Professor Mary Low is Associate Professor at Waikato University’s Management School, where she has been Head of School for Accounting, Finance and Economics, and Chair of the Department of Accounting. She led the establishment of the University’s Master of Professional Accounting, helping the university gain national and international recognition. She has built engagement between secondary schools and tertiary education by coordinating outreach programmes in schools and hosting networking events that connect students and established professionals. Associate Professor Low is an established international researcher, and citations of her publications place her in the top 10 for current accounting academics nationally. Her work on corporate social reporting and integrated reporting has shaped accounting practice and policy in New Zealand.
