Ms Elizabeth Mortland, of Taihape, KSM for services to the community
Ms Elizabeth Mortland established over 20 initiatives in Taihape, including the Rangitikei Environment Group, Taihape Older and Bolder, and Te Roopu Wāhine Aroha. She managed the Taihape Community Development Trust, and organised Taihape’s Gumboot Day. She won gold and silver medals at World Boot-throwing Championships in Italy and Finland, and organised the 2019 World Champs in Taihape. She has helped community groups with funding applications, and coordinates Taihape Neighbourhood Support. She has been a VSA volunteer in Vanuatu, and coordinated the 10th Triennial Conference of Pacific Women and the 3rd Pacific Ministers Meeting on Women.
