Mr Patrick Gale, of Auckland, MNZM for services to education
Mr Patrick Gale is Headmaster at King’s College, and was previously Principal of Rangitoto College, achieving record-breaking academic results, including eight percent of all scholarships nationwide in 2024. He implemented a "Summit Diploma" for Year 9 and 10 students, and a Rangitoto-specific "Year 11 Diploma". He chairs the NCEA Professional Advisory Group, and contributed to the Expert Advisory Group for the National Review of NCEA, helping to shape significant changes, with a focus on equity and quality. As Principal of Kaipara College, Mr Gale raised NCEA Level 1 pass rates by 20 percent in just 18 months. At Rosmini College, he implemented curriculum design and assessments that supported an 83 percent University Entrance pass rate in 2015.
