Ms Lisa Kingi-Bon, of Auckland, MNZM for services to rugby, particularly player welfare
Ms Lisa Kingi-Bon has been Chief Executive of the New Zealand Rugby Foundation since 2012, supporting lifelong care for seriously injured rugby players and their families. She has advocated for safer, more inclusive rugby environments, and has championed player safety education. She has strengthened national support systems, and advanced player safety initiatives, which have included planning for brain health and concussion risk management; support for Research into Concussion, safety and prevention; and injury management. She also championed an initiative to have defibrillators in every rugby club. Ms Kingi-Bon has been a rugby administrator for five Rugby World Cup tournaments, international and national teams, provincial unions and club rugby.
