Talaleomalie Mena Loheni, of Auckland, MNZM for services to Pacific fashion
Mrs Talaleomalie Mena Loheni is a seamstress and founded Mena Designs in Samoa. The company expanded to New Zealand, and became a household name amongst the Pacific community. Mena Designs have been showcased in Fiji, Japan, Canada, and the United States, and Mena International was the first Pacific business showcased at New Zealand Fashion Week. Mrs Loheni has contributed to Miss Samoa New Zealand and supports boxing, rugby league and weightlifting in Samoa. She contributed to relief for Samoa following the 2009 tsunami, and has supported PACIFICA Women West Auckland, Habitat for Humanity New Zealand, and Aoaga Fa’a Samoa early childhood centre in Auckland.
