Timothy (Tim) Richardson, MNZM, Tauranga
For services to rowing. Mr Tim Richardson has been involved in rowing at all levels for more than 45 years. He has coached five New Zealand junior teams, five New Zealand under 23 teams, 32 place getting teams at New Zealand Championships, and 57 place-getting teams in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships. He has held numerous administrative posts at club, regional and international level. He has been a member of the International Rowing Federation’s Environment committee for 10 years, and it’s Chair for eight years. He provides course commentaries at rowing regattas for Rowing New Zealand and Sky TV. He is a life member of the Auckland University and Tauranga Rowing Clubs. Mr Richardson has received numerous awards including the Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools Coach of the Year in 1994, the Bay of Plenty Coach of the Year in 1997 and the New Zealand Rowing Service Award in 2009.
