Dr Alan Jamieson, ONZM, Auckland
For services to radio spectrum management. Dr Alan Jamieson is an engineer and an internationally recognised leader on radio spectrum management issues. He has contributed to the international standardisation of radio spectrum for more than 30 years. He is the Managing Director of Added Value Applications, an Auckland-based telecommunications consultancy. He is currently the independent Chair of the inter-agency working groups on Public Protection and Disaster Relief radio-communications interoperability and Emergency Calling Services, and Chair of the New Zealand Aviation Spectrum Group. He is often called upon to chair committees and meetings as an official New Zealand representative to the International Telecommunication Union and the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity. His work has assisted the effective operation of the radio-communications systems used by the transport industry, the Police, the Fire Service, ambulance, and the Defence Force. In 2010 Dr Jamieson received the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand Rabone Award.
