For services to the building industry. Mr Brian McGuinness is the Managing Director of the LT McGuinness building firm. He has served the firm for 36 years, and is the second generation of his family to lead the company. The company has a reputation for excellence in heritage, conservation and restoration projects. It has recently successfully completed the refurbishment of Government House, Wellington. LT McGuinness has refurbished other landmark historical Wellington buildings, including St Mary of the Angels, Premier House and the Chews Lane precinct, to meet all current building codes and standards. Mr McGuinness supports a wide range of community groups. He is a life members of the Marist St Pats Rugby Club and is Chair of the Board of Proprietors for St Patrick’s College Silverstream. He was appointed to the board of trustees of the New Zealand Historic Places Trust in 2011. Mr McGuinness received a Papal Knighthood in recognition of the quality of work in the restoration of St Mary of the Angels church.
