Peter Radich, ONZM, Blenheim
For services to the law. Mr Peter Radich has provided legal advice to organisations in the Marlborough district for more than 40 years. He was Marlborough’s coroner from 1979 to 2007. He has been the District Solicitor of the Marlborough District Council since 1989, and was solicitor to the previous local authority from 1974. He has provided considerable service to many individuals and community groups at no cost. He was an inaugural board member for the Picton Emergency Operations Centre Trust. He has been a member of the Marlborough Law Society for many years and was President from 1989 to 1990. He was Vice President of the New Zealand Law Society from 1992 to 1993. He served as Chair of the Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal Committee until its disestablishment in January 2009, after which he became a member of the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal. Mr Radich has been a milk commissioner for Fonterra since 2004 and has been Chair of the Broadcasting Standards Authority since 2009.
