William Noble, MNZM, Hamilton.
For services to education. Mr William Noble was Principal of Fairfield Intermediate in Hamilton from 1989 until his retirement in 2010. He had taught at other schools in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty before he began in this role. As Principal of Fairfield Intermediate, he was instrumental in gaining funding approval for a new performing arts centre at the school. He introduced digital learning to the school and has strongly advocated for its value. He has been actively involved in the New Zealand Educational Institute for 47 years. He was President of the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club for 20 years, ending this role in 2000. Mr Noble received the New Zealand Educational Institute Award of Fellow for outstanding service at a national level in 1994 and was made a Life Member of the New Zealand Association of Intermediate and Middle Schools in 2009.
