For services to transport. Mr Paul Woodgate is the Logistics Co-ordinator for the Antarctica New Zealand Programme. He deals with the logistics of more than 250 people going to and from Antarctica annually. Visitors include Antarctica New Zealand staff, scientists, Scott Base temporary workers, and distinguished and foreign visitors. He arranges approximately 100 flights to and from Antarctica each season, including medical evacuations. Mr Woodgate is usually the first Antarctica New Zealand representative many visitors make contact with and is renowned for the good impression he creates, especially for foreign visitors to the New Zealand programme.
