Ross Ditmer, QSM, Rangiora
For services to the New Zealand Fire Service. Mr Ross Ditmer has contributed to the New Zealand volunteer fire fighting sector for more than 25 years. He joined the Rangiora Volunteer Fire Brigade in 1985, progressing through the ranks to become its Chief Fire Officer in 2004, before leaving in 2010. In 2006, he was elected to the Executive of the United Fire Brigades’ Association of New Zealand. He was made an honorary life member of the United Fire Brigades’ Association in 2010, having been its Director and President. He is currently the Area Manager for the New Zealand Fire Service Transalpine Region. Mr Ditmer received a Queen’s Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1999 and a United Fire Brigades’ Association Gold Star in 2010.
