Ross Corrigan, Hawera, MNZM, for services to farming and the community
Mr Ross Corrigan has been a steward at the Egmont Agricultural and Pastoral Association since 1952 and a member of the show committee since 1960. He was made Patron in 2007. He was Chair of the Taranaki Federated Farmers Sharemilker Employers Section for 28 years, and a member of the Section's national executive for 40 years from 1965. He was a steward and committee member of the Egmont Sheep Dog Trial Club from 1952 to 2008, and was made patron in 2009. He was a committee member of the West Coast Settlement Reserves Lessees Association for 15 years, including a term as President from 1965 to 1975. He has been an active Justice of the Peace since 1990 and was President of the local association from 2003 to 2005. He was President of the Hawera Historical Society for 10 years, has been a committee member of the Mount Egmont Alpine Club since 1960, and was made patron of the Club in 2012. Mr Corrigan is deeply respected for the mentoring he has provided to many young people entering the agricultural sector. In 2010 he received the South Taranaki District Council Community Award.
