Traci Houpapa, Hamilton, MNZM, for services to business and Māori
Ms Traci Houpapa is the first woman Chair of the Federation of Māori Authorities Inc., a national body representing commercially-focused Māori and iwi authorities, and is also the Tainui representative. In 2007 she was appointed to the Waikato Guardians Establishment Committee, the forerunner to what is now the Waikato River Authority. In 2008 she was elected to the Māori Women’s Welfare League National Executive and was appointed as a director on the Waikato Bay of Plenty Netball Franchise. Since 1999 she has been a member of Te Uranga B2 Incorporation, a Māori authority in the King Country. She currently holds directorships in Landcorp Farming Ltd, and Strada Corporation Ltd. She is also Director of Pemberton Construction Ltd, and holds ministerial appointments to the National Advisory Council on the Employment of Women, and the Rural Broadband National Advisory Committee. Ms Houpapa also sits on the NZTE Global Strategic Initiatives Expert Advisory Group, and is a Justice of the Peace and marriage celebrant.
