Diana Robinson
Diana Robinson, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of a Companion of The Queen's Service Order for services to the Child Cancer Foundation. Mrs Robinson has been active in the Child Cancer Foundation (CCF) for more than 30 years. She was instrumental in the founding and development of the Foundation and its forerunner, the Hope Group. She has been pivotal in the success of the Canterbury/West Coast branch and ran an auction at her home to raise funds to buy a house in Christchurch that is used by the CCF and CanTeen for families to go for ‘time-out’ and as a resource centre. She has been instrumental in building a sustainable funding base and developing a network of volunteers and staff across New Zealand to deliver services to families. Mrs Robinson has donated prizes for fundraising, sponsored and hosted the CCF Canterbury/West Coast branch children’s Christmas party, and has continually supported and helped with its annual street appeal.
