John Musgrove
John Musgrove, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of a Member of The New Zealand Order of Merit for services to community medicine. Dr Musgrove has been a general practitioner in Christchurch for more than 30 years. He established the Ilam Medical Centre in 1970, which became a model for similar centres in Canterbury, and set up Mansfield Health Practice in 1991. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Canterbury Faculty of the Royal College of General Practitioners (later the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners) in 1974, and was the foundation chairman. He taught general practice at the Christchurch School of Medicine for 10 years. Dr Musgrove is a member of the board of governors of the Windsor House Retirement Centre in Shirley.
