Lynette Miles
Lynette Miles, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of a Member of The New Zealand Order of Merit for services to netball administration. Mrs Miles has been involved in netball administration, coaching, and umpiring in Canterbury for more than 35 years. She co-ordinated and organised the kiwi netball programme in Christchurch and was involved with the international Golden Oldie netball festival. She is active with Netball New Zealand as the development officer for the upper South Island Area. She was awarded a Canterbury Netball Service Award in 1987, a Netball New Zealand service award in 1994, and the Sport Canterbury Winter Sports Administrator of the Year Award in 1992. In 2003 Mrs Miles received the Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Award for most Outstanding Professional Sports Administrator and, in 2007, was awarded the Most Valuable Contribution to Sport award at the Sport Canterbury Winter Sports Awards.
