David Drayton
David Drayton, of Christchurch, received The Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Mr Drayton has been involved in the Christchurch community for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Heathcote County Council and a member of the Spreydon-Heathcote Community Board. He has been treasurer for the Huntsbury Community Centre for more than 30 years and is now its President. He was the Secretary/Treasurer of the City South Businessmen’s Association and Treasurer of the Port Hills Trust Board. He has done volunteer work for Civil Defence, Neighbourhood Watch and indoor netball. He is a committee member and coach for the Christchurch High School Old Boys Rugby Club. Mr Drayton has been involved with badminton for more than 40 years and is a member of the Canterbury Badminton Club and on the board of Canterbury Badminton.
